St. Ann is blessed to have a magnificent staff with various backgrounds and a wealth of knowledge to share with our students.

 

 

 

 

 

Ms. Melissa Herrera

     Pre-Kindergarten                                                        

Ms. Herrera has been a member of the St. Ann family for 10 years. She is a mother of five children, three of whom are graduates of St. Ann. Over the course of her time at St. Ann, she has worked as a librarian, a teacher's assistant, and worked in the after care program. She is a North Carolina certified early childhood education teacher and is an alumna of UNC-Greensboro.

Mrs. Leslee Dodge

1st Grade

Mrs. Dodge has served on the St. Ann staff since 2018 as a Teacher Assistant in both Kindergarten and Second Grade. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration-HR Management from Baker College in Flint, Michigan, and a Master’s Degree in Education from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She is a member of the Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society and a recipient of the USFAA Molly Pitcher Award. Mrs. Dodge has her basic catechist certification and is CPR certifed. Mrs. Dodge is a native of Michigan and is married to a retired USMC Officer, and they have one daughter who is in the 7th grade here at St. Ann.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, being outside at the pool, and spending time with her husband, daughter and two cats

 

 

 

 

 

Mrs. Ariana Newlin

2nd Grade

Mrs. Newlin is excited to be teaching 2nd grade this year at St. Ann. She is the eldest of five sisters and grew up in Florida. Mrs. Newlin studied at the University of Florida. Afterwords, she lived in Texas for about four years where she met her husband, they were married in 2023 and moved to Fayetteville after he joined the army. Mrs. Newlin enjoys sewing, crafting, hiking, and traveling. Her Favorite Saint is Saint Therese of Liseux, who said, "Our Lord does not look so much at the greatness of our actions, nor even at their difficulty, but at the love with which we do them."

 

 

 

 

 

Mrs. Dawn Sifuentes

3rd Grade

Dawn Sifuentes is very excited and honored to be teaching at St. Ann this year. This is her thirteenth year at St. Ann, but she had taught in Harnett County previously. This is her 20th year teaching. She and her husband are originally from Toledo, Ohio, but they moved to North Carolina so that she could pursue teaching. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education at Lourdes College in Sylvania, Ohio, and has her Ohio teaching license as well as her North Carolina license. Mrs. Sifuentes has her Basic Catechist Certification. She and her husband have three beautiful children, Zachary, Sofia, and Nickolas. Nickolas is a senior, Sofia is in 8th grade, and Zachary is in 4th grade. She also has two college aged step-children, Maggie and Jonathan, who live in Ohio and visit in the summer. Mrs. Sifuentes and her husband love college football season! Although they are from Ohio, they are both Michigan fans. "Go Blue!" 

 

 

 

 

 

Ms. Kathleen Stoneburner

4th Grade

Mrs. Stoneburner is a recent Yankee transplant from Kalamazoo, Michigan. She has taught and coached middle school volleyball, and boys' and girls' basketball for 22 years at St. Augustine Cathedral School in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Mrs. Stoneburner obtained aBachelor of Science Degree and a Professional Education Degree from Western Michigan University. She is certified to teach grades k-12 but has taught middle school ELA for most of her teaching career. Mrs. Stoneburner is looking forward to teaching 4th grade again at St. Ann.  Mrs. Stoneburner has one son, Elijah, who is stationed at Fort Liberty, two German Shepards dogs, Riley and Shadow, and one fat cat, Tookie.  Her passions are teaching, coaching, camping and anything Notre Dame - Go Irish!!

 

 

 

Mrs. Lisa Knapp

5th Grade

 

Mrs. Knapp has served her community as a registered behavior technician for the last four years. Mrs. Knapp has worked with children on the spectrum from ages as young as four and young adults as old as seventeen to nineteen years of age. Advocating for the needs of others and helping children reach their goals keeps her in this field. Mrs. Knapp is currently working on her Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and plans to become a BCBA , a board certified behavior analysis, after graduating. She is here at St. Ann’s because of a long-time desire to teach.

Mrs. Katie Desjardin

7th Grade Homeroom/Middle School Math/7th and 8th Grade Social Studies

Mrs. Desjardin is in her first year at St. Ann. She has her Bachelors Degree in History for the University of Tampa. She has previously taught middle school in Florida and elementary school in Missouri. She is married to a member of the military and has two sons who will be attending Cape Fear High School. 

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Mark Culbreth

8th Grade Homeroom/Middle School English/Language Arts/6th Grade Social Studies

Mr. Culbreth is a Fayetteville native who worked and retired from Cumberland County Schools this summer after 35 years with the system.  He worked as a teacher, curriculum specialist, school administrator, and district administrator.  He first attended East Carolina University where he received a degree in English Writing and Psychology.  He later received his certification in teaching and advanced degrees in education and school administration from Fayetteville State University.

Mr. Culbreth has been married to his wife Keneen since 1997.  They have one daughter, Madison, who attends Cumberland County Schools.  He is excited to be back doing what he loved best in his career, working with children and helping them succeed and grow.

 

 

 

 

 

Mr. Antony Bishop

Middle School Religion

Mr. Bishop was born and raised in Fayetteville, NC. He holds a BA in Religion from Methodist University and a Master of Divinity from Duke University. 

 

 

 

 

Mrs. Sharona Carter

Music and Band

Mrs. Carter was born and raised in the Fayetteville area. She has a BS degree in Music Education from UNC Pembroke. In 1987, Mrs. Carter began her teaching career in the Hoke County School System. (1987-1994) (1996-1997 School Year) Mrs. Carter joined the St. Ann Staff in 1998 as the music teacher, and teaches all of our students on a weekly basis. In addition to the general music classes, students are given the opportunity to participate in chorus and band. Over the years she has served other schools in the Fayetteville area as well.

Mr. Mitch Adams

Physical Education

Coach Adams graduated from Reid Ross High School in 1985. While at Reid Ross, he played football and baseball. In 1989, he graduated from Methodist University with a Bachelors of Science degree. He also played baseball while at Methodist. In 2002, he received a Masters Degree in Physical Education from North Carolina A & T. From 1990-2019, Coach Adams was a teacher at Douglas Byrd Middle School, John Griffin Middle School. He coached football and baseball during that time as well. Coach Adams has one son, Dustin, who is 27 years old.

Ms. Joyce has been a part of the St. Ann community for over eight years. She has filed the roles of volunteer, substitute, and teacher's assistant and has been in her current position as the administrative assistant for over five years. Ms. Joyce is also the mother of a St. Ann 8th grader. 

 

Originally from Missouri, Ms. Joyce earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Central Missouri. Prior to joining the St. Ann family, she worked for a not-for-profit legal organization and also in local North Carolina government. Ms. Joyce and her daughter are registered parishioners of St. Ann parish.

Mr. Mack Herring

Custodian

Mr. Herring studied at FTCC after high school and began working as a Tire Specialist for Kelly Springfield through Goodyear. He retired with 35 yrs. of service. He has since worked part time as custodian for St. Ann School. He and his wife were pleased to send both of their children to St. Ann School. They recommend a Catholic education to everyone. They have also been members of St. Ann Church since 1982. They enjoy spending their free time with family and friends and taking day trips to different areas of North Carolina.
