St. Ann's is blessed to have a magnificent staff with various backgrounds and a wealth of knowledge to share with our students.



Maria Mendiola


Mrs. Mendiola received her Associate of Science Degree in Medical Assisting from Guam Community College, an umbrella program of Kapiolani Community College in Hawaii. She has both Early Childhood Administration credentials as well as School-Age Child Care credentials from the state of North Carolina. She has worked in the Early Childhood industry for over 10 years as a pre-school teacher, childcare assistant director, and childcare director.

Mrs. Mendiola is a native Guamanian from the Pacific Island of Guam. She is happily married for 30 years to her husband Michael. They have two children who have attended St. Ann Catholic School (Michaelynn is now in 12th grade at Massey Hill Classical and Mitchell is in 6th grade.) She loves spending quality time with family and friends, enjoys baking, cooking, crocheting, sewing, reading, and traveling. 


Marilia Gannon



Mrs. Gannon has a BS degree in Physical Education and Health from Western Carolina University. She has been teaching at St. Ann for the past 19 years. 



Jennifer Tapia

1st Grade

The Army brought Ms. Tapia and her family to Fayetteville in 2014. She is originally from Washington State and loves hiking, exploring outdoors and traveling. She has four children, two of whom attend St. Ann (and two graduates). Ms. Tapia received her teaching certificate in Florida and has taught 4th grade in local Fayetteville public schools and also middle school ELA at St. Ann. She loves teaching first grade and is excited to see what each new year holds!




Kristen Walton
2nd Grade



Mrs. Kristen Walton is returning to the staff at St. Ann Catholic School. She taught 4th grade from 2007-2010.  She currently teaches 2nd grade.  She has been married to her husband, Dave, since 1993.   They have two grown children, Jack and Lauren, who both attended St. Ann in grade school.  The Walton family are retired military and have lived in Fayetteville since 1998.  

Mrs. Walton received a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing from Slippery Rock University in 1993 and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Texas University 1995. She has taught in the public and private sector.


Dawn Sifuentes
3rd Grade



Dawn Sifuentes is very excited and honored to be teaching at St. Ann this year. This is her eighth year at St. Ann, but she had taught in Harnett County previously. She and her husband are originally from Toledo, Ohio, but they moved to North Carolina so that she could pursue teaching. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education at Lourdes College in Sylvania, Ohio, and has her Ohio teaching license as well as her North Carolina license. She and her husband have three beautiful children, Zachary, Sofia, and Nickolas. Nickolas is in 7th grade this year, Sofia is in 3rd grade, and Zachary is in Pre-K. She also has two college aged step-children, Maggie and Jonathan, who live in Ohio and visit in the summer. Mrs. Sifuentes and her husband love college football season! Although they are from Ohio, they are both Michigan fans. "Go Blue!" 



London Sylvestre
4th Grade


Miss Sylvestre graduated from Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio, with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and is currently working towards a master’s degree in Higher Education. She is from Canada but spent a lot of her life in Michigan - Go Blue! During her free time, Miss Sylvestre loves traveling, cooking, hiking, rock climbing, and watching hockey. This is her second year teaching at St. Ann and she really loves her fourth grade class. 





Tina Isenbarger

5th Grade


Ms. Isenbarger received her bachelor degree in Special Education from Ohio University and a master's degree in Special Education from FSU. She taught Jr./Sr. HS in Ohio for 7 years and 3 years at Anne Chesnutt year-round middle school. This is Ms. Isenbarger 10th year of teaching at St. Ann: eight years in 2nd grade and two years in 5th grade. She has two children (Evan-16 and Kennedy-14), who are enrolled in the Global Studies program at Terry Sanford HS.  "Ms. I" loves football (Go Buckeyes!), yoga, dancing, traveling and most importantly; her family.


Sarah Panter
6th Grade Homeroom and Middle School English/Language Arts, and Social Studies


Mrs. Panter has a BS degree in Elementary Education from UNC - Pembroke. She started her teaching experience at St. Ann and is now in her 15th year here. 






Theresa Williams
7th & 8th Grade Homeroom and Middle School Math, and Social Studies


Theresa P Williams is a graduate of Fayetteville State University. She has worked in the Cumberland County School System for many years. She is a certified teacher of Middle School Mathematics.This is her first year at St. Ann Catholic School.

Gail Reid

Middle School Science

Originally from Massachusetts, Gail Reid returned to Fayetteville for the third time in 1992. She graduated from Marymount/Fordham with a B.A. in History and Teacher Certificate from New York University in 1970. She matriculated through 12 graduate schools and has taught kindergarten through college. Ms. Reid accumulated the following:

Ed. Specialist, UNC Chapel-Hill; Psychological Testing, University of Maryland; Middle Grades, 
FSU; NASA Mathematics, Science, and Technology, Bennett College; M.Ed. (LD, OHI, SED, BED, and ADHD) North Georgia College; and Diverse and Multicultural Education, George Mason University.
Although Ms. Reid retired, she continued to teach through Fayetteville Urban Ministry for the adult literacy program, Special Needs students, and Psychological Associates. Presently, Ms. Reid is the 6th ,7th , 8th grades science Teacher.

Margaretta Kelly

6th grade Social Studies


Ms. Kelly is a certified K-8 teacher who is retired from Ft. Bragg Schools after 36 years. She has worked with St. Ann students for the past 7 years. 





Yadira Rodriquez



Mrs. Rodriguez was born in Puerto Rico. She graduated in 1993 from the University of Puerto Rico with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management. This is her 10th year teaching at St. Ann. She has been married for 24 years and has two children. Her daughter graduated from St. Ann in 2012 and now attends UNC Chapel Hill and her son graduated from St. Ann in 2014 and now attends Norwich University in Vermont. She likes to read, do puzzles and craft. She also enjoys cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Antony Bishop
Middle School Religion


Mr. Bishop was born and raised in Fayetteville. He received his Bachelor of the Arts in Religion at Methodist University and his Masters of Divinity from Duke University.  



  Sharona Carter
Music and Band



Mrs. Carter was born and raised in the Fayetteville area. She has a BS degree in Music Education from UNC Pembroke. In 1987, Mrs. Carter began her teaching career in the Hoke County School System. (1987-1994) (1996-1997 School Year) Mrs. Carter joined the St. Ann Staff in 1998 as the Music Teacher, and teaches all of our students on a weekly basis. In addition to the General Music Classes, students are given the opportunity to participate in Chorus and Band.Over the years she has served other schools in the Fayetteville area as well.

Mack Herring

I studied at FTCC after high school and began working as a Tire Specialist for Kelly Springfield through Goodyear. I retired with 35 yrs. of service. I've worked part time as custodian for St. Ann School. I now begin my 14th year. My wife and I were pleased to send both of our children to St. Ann School. We recommend a Catholic education to everyone. We have been members of St. Ann Church since 1982. We enjoy spending our free time with family and friends and take day trips to different areas of North Carolina.
