Battle of the Books 2015

A BIG congratulations to the St. Ann Battle of the Books team!

On the afternoon of March 18th, for the SECOND year in a row, students from St. Ann School successfully competed against St. Patrick Catholic School and the Fayetteville Academy. They spent almost 5 months reading a list of 18 pre-selected novels and being quizzed on those books after school every week. Their hard work paid off with a victory! Way to go! Proud of our St. Ann Students!

Catholic Schools Week 2015

(January 25-30)

On Monday, the focus was on "Our Community". The Testifier's Mass Choir visited our neighboring retirement home and performed for the residents.

Tuesday, the focus was "Our Students". The schoolwide spelling bee was held in the afternoon. The top three finishers from grades 4-8 competed.

The three finalists were awarded their medals after Mass on Thursday, along with the winners of the poster, poem, and essay contests that were also held.

Students were allowed to "dress their best" on Thursday, so after Mass....

In addition to the events taking place this week, the Knights of Columbus sold spaghetti plates on Wednesday to help fund the 8th grade class trip to Washington, D.C. in the spring. The 8th graders lent a helping hand...

Students celebrated Las Posadas on the day before Chrismas break. What a way to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas!

St. Ann students collected 1276 pounds of food and $984 in monetary donations for a total of 7120 points in the Heart of Carolina food drive in December! We were the top collecting school in the whole area!

Two of our 8th grade students showcased their talents at the 2014 Christmas Concert for the Fayetteville Youth Symphony Orchestra at Methodist College on December 14th.

On October 9, two fifth graders and one sixth grade student traveled to John Paul II Catholic School in Southern Pines to compete in their annual Cross Country meet.

Thanks to a generous parent, 4th grade students now have access to tablets to use in class. With these tablets, students can read the novels studied in class, take AR tests, and complete math activities and games that relate to concepts taught in class.
