St. Ann's is blessed to have a magnificent staff with various backgrounds and a wealth of knowledge to share with our students.

 

   


Maria Mendiola
Pre-Kindergarten

 

 Mrs. Mendiola received her Associate of Science Degree in Medical Assisting from Guam Community College an umbrella program of Kapiolani Community College in Hawaii. She has both Early Childhood Administration credential as well as School-Age Child Care credential from the state of North Carolina. She has worked in the Early Childhood industry for over 10 years as a pre-school teacher, childcare assistant director, and childcare director.

Mrs. Mendiola is a native Guamanian from the Pacific Island of Guam. She is happily married for 26 years to her husband Michael. They have two children who have attended St. Ann Catholic School (Michaelynn- now in 10th grade at Massey Hill Classical and Mitchell-4th grade). She loves spending quality time with family and friends, enjoys baking, cooking, crocheting, sewing, reading, and traveling.

Marilia Gannon
Kindergarten

 

  

Mrs. Gannon has a BS degree in Physical Education and Health from Western Carolina University. She has been teaching at St. Ann for the past 18 years.

Jennifer Tapia

1st Grade

The Army brought Ms. Tapia and her family to Fayetteville in 2014. She is originally from Washington State and loves hiking, exploring outdoors and traveling. She has four of her own children who attend St. Ann, in grades 2nd-8th. Ms. Tapia received her teaching certificate in Florida and has taught 4th grade in local Fayetteville public schools and also middle school ELA at St. Ann. She is enjoying her first year of teaching first grade in 2017-2018!

Tina Isenbarger
2nd Grade

 

 

Ms. Isenbarger received her BS degree in Special Education from Ohio University and Master's Degree in Special Education from F.S.U.. She taught Junior and Senior High School in Ohio for 7 years and 3 years at a year-round school in Cumberland County. This is Ms. Isenbarger's eighth year teaching 2nd grade at St. Ann. She has two children (Evan-8th grade and Kennedy-7th grade). Ms. Isenbarger loves football (Go Buckeyes!), yoga,dancing, and traveling.

Dawn Sifuentes
3rd Grade

 

 

Dawn Sifuentes is very excited and honored to be teaching at St. Ann's this year. This is her sixth year at St. Ann's, but she had taught in Harnett County previously. She and her husband are originally from Toledo, Ohio, but they moved to North Carolina so that she could pursue teaching. She received her Bachelor of the Arts in Early Childhood Education at Lourdes College in Sylvania, Ohio and has her Ohio teaching license as well as her North Carolina license. She and her husband have three beautiful children, Zachary, Sofia, and Nickolas. Nickolas is in fifth grade this year, Sofia is in 1st grade, and Zachary will be three. She also has two college aged step-children, Maggie and Jonathan, who live in Ohio and visit in the summer. Mrs. Sifuentes and her husband love college football season! Although they are from Ohio, they are both Michigan fans. "Go Blue!"

Kristen Walton
4th Grade

 

 

Mrs. Kristen Walton is returning to the staff at St. Ann Catholic School. She taught 4th grade from 2007-2010.  She has been married to her husband, Dave, for 24 years. They have two grown children, Jack and Lauren, who both attended St. Ann in grade school.  The Walton family are retired military and have lived in Fayetteville for 19 years. 

Mrs. Walton received a Bachelors of Arts in English Writing from Slippery Rock University in 1993 and a Bachelors of Science in Education from Central Texas University 1995. She has taught in the public and private sector.

Julie Leitch
5th Grade

 

 

Mrs. Julie Leitch is returning to the staff at St. Ann. She taught first grade here from February through May of 2008. Many may recognize her as a substitute teacher last year. 

Mrs. Leitch was a Catechist, Youth Group Facilitator and Assistant Director of Faith Formation at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.

She received her Bachelors of Education and Psychology from SUNY Potsdam in 1993. In 1996, Mrs. Leitch became certified in Special Education.  She has taught in the public and private sector since then.

Sarah Panter

 Mrs. Panter has a BS degree in Elementary Education from UNC - Pembroke. She started her teaching experience at St. Ann and is now in her 12th year here.

John Rock

Mr. Rock is a graduate of Fayetteville State University with a BS in education. He is retired from the U.S. Army and taught in Cumberland and Hoke County school systems before retiring in 2010.

Yadira Rodriquez
Spanish

 

 

Mrs. Rodriguez was born in Puerto Rico. She graduated in 1993 from the University of Puerto Rico with a Bacherlors Degree in Business Administration/Management. This is her eighth year teaching at St. Ann. She has been married for 22 years with two kids. Her daughter graduated from St. Ann in 2012 and now attends UNC Chapel Hill, and her son graduated from St. Ann in 2014 and now attends Massey Hill Classical High School. She likes to read, do puzzles and crafts. She enjoys to cook and spend time with family and friends.

John Bunting
Middle School Religion

 

 

Mr. Bunting was born and raised in southern New Jersey and has lived in North Carolina since 1992. He holds a BA in History from Thomas Edison State College in New Jersey and a Masters in Theology from St. Joseph College of Maine. He is in his 11th year serving at St. Ann School and is also the Pastoral Associate of St. Ann Catholic Church. He has 24 years experience in youth ministry and more than 29 years in music ministry.

Sharona Carter
Music and Band

 

 

Mrs. Carter was born and raised in the Fayetteville area. She has a BS degree in Music Education from UNC Pembroke. In 1987, Mrs. Carter began her teaching career in the Hoke County School System. (1987-1994) (1996-1997 School Year) Mrs. Carter joined the St. Ann Staff in 1998 as the Music Teacher, and teaches all of our students on a weekly basis. In addition to the General Music Classes, students are given the opportunity to participate in Chorus and Band.

Over the years she has served other schools in the Fayetteville area as well.

Dawn Leone
Physical Education

 

 

 

 

Mrs. Leone has a BS degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences from the University of Florida. This is her ninth year as part of the St Ann faculty. Mrs. Leone has previous experience teaching P.E. to elementary students in Florida and Texas. She and her husband, Peter, have been married for 26 years and have two sons Blake and Trent. Both sons have greatly benefited from their years attending St Ann Catholic School. Mrs. Leone also volunteers as a leader in Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, La Leche League, and in her parish.

I studied at FTCC after high school and began working as a Tire Specialist for Kelly Springfield through Goodyear. I retired with 35 yrs. of service. I've worked part time as custodian for St. Ann School. I now begin my 13th year. My wife and I were pleased to send both of our children to St. Ann School. We recommend a Catholic education to everyone. We have been members of St. Ann Church since 1982. We enjoy spending our free time with family and friends and take day trips to different areas of North Carolina.
